Cork County Fire & Rescue Service River Rescue Teams

The new team is one of 5 new teams recently trained by Cork County Fire & Rescue Service to deal with incidents involving river rescues and flooding. The other new teams are based in Mallow, Ballincollig, Bandon and Skibbereen (all towns that have been badly effected by flooding in recent years.
Munster Fire & Rescue wish all the new teams the very best as they take up their extended roles.

Due to the nature of Cork County (its fairly large), Cork County Fire and Rescue service employ a number of mechanics to keep the mixed fleet " on the run" and fully operational. To ensure this a number of Ford Transits & a new Volkswagen Crafter vans are used by these mechanics as mobile workshops for this purpose.

This Ex Cork City Command Unit, Ford Transit 92C12571 is now with Cork County Fire and Rescue Service. Its purpose is unknown though, it was spotted in March 2009 towing a Demonstration unit.
